Prince Hashim enjoys the outdoors, his pastimes include hiking, camping and marksmanship. He likes hiking and camping, where he can contemplate and connect with nature. He is also a purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, a discipline which he has been practicing when time has permitted for more than 10 years. He believes that wrestling/grappling, which is the basis for jiu jitsu is a metaphor for life and one of the perennial sports, and his interest in grappling partially stems from its firm roots in the Arabic and Islamic traditions. To him, grappling and wrestling symbolize the challenges and resilience needed in life's journey, a metaphor for life itself.

Language Studies & Multicultural Exploration

His Royal Highness Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein is not only fluent in Arabic and English, but is also a dedicated student of the Turkish language.
